David Kern | William Forsythe’s Improvisation Technologies workshop with the dancer and choreographer David Kern to learn how to improvise by using ideas of lines and shapes in the space.
Where: CID – Centro Internazionale della Danza, Corso Rosmini 58, Rovereto (TN), Italy
When: 17th-19th April 2020
Deadline for applications: 3rd April 2020
William Forsythe’s “Improvisation Technologies” teaches dancers to improvise by using ideas of lines and shapes. It draws the dancer’s attention outward into the space around them, and inward towards the body’s present state. It facilitates making a visually clear and interesting dance. This course will introduce the students to this system, but this is only a beginning. Once the students know the tools, there are countless ways to use it. We will try some of these ways. The last part of this workshop will help the students find new ways to find new ways.
