Butoh Training in London Led By Florencia Guerberof

Asian Performing Arts founder, Florencia Guerberof is leading an intense dance theatre training. The sessions explore Butoh, a Japanese Avant-Garde movement originated in Tokyo in 1959 by Tatsumi Hijikata and Kazuo Ohno, and investigate its relevance in a contemporary context.

Where: The Place, 16 Flaxman Terrace, London WC1H 9AT, UK

When: 13th & 15th December 2019

The practice focuses on the breath as a vital force animating the body. The dancer encounters a resistance moving in-between opposite forces.

The building of a structure leads to its destruction and the dissolution of the self. Form and spirit unfold in a process of transformation.
